Johan Linton is a Swedish architect, artist and historian. As a practitioner he has mainly worked in the field of furniture and art. As an historian he is specialised in Le Corbusier, but he has also contributed with historical research on other international and local themes in the fields of architecture and design.
Linton’s furniture and artistic objects have been exhibited around Europe and are present in the collection of various Scandinavian Museums.
As an academic Linton has a Masters degree in Engineering Physics, a Masters degree in Architecture, a Licentiate degree and a Doctor’s degree in the Theory and History of Architecture. He has published a large amount of scientific texts on architecture in Sweden and internationally. He is an Assistant professor in the Theory and History of Architecture at Chalmers University of Technology in Göteborg and at Luleå University of Technology.
Linton has also been working in the field or magazine production and design. Together with psychoanalyst and Prof Per Magnus Johansson (chief editor) and others he created the review Arche in 2002 (until 2011 Psykoanalytisk Tid/Skrift) and he has been responsible for the graphic design, the production and the content of architecture in the review ever since.
